Handy tips to help choose a sweet water melon




Water melon is originally from South Africa and now very common in East and West Africa, according to research water melon is one of the healthiest fruit on planet earth. You will agree with me that a lot of people don’t know how to eat water melon and that’s because they don’t know the benefits or don’t always get the sweet juicy ones. Cos I know everyone needs it, so there is no more excuse for not eating it after reading this.

Did you know?

  • Water melon should be consumed 20-30 minutes before or after eating other fruits or food and alone.  Eating should include the back as well as the seeds.
  • Watermelon contains about 91% of water by weight.
  • Water melon gives the body energy, is rich in carbohydrate {sugar and fiber}, vitamin{C, B, and beta carotene}, fat, protein and provides the body with trace element {Magnesium, calcium, zinc}.
  • Water melon seeds are good for your skin as well. The unsaturated fatty acids in water melon seeds keep the skin moisturized, soft, well-toned, firm and prevent acne and other skin disorders.
 
Also note that you can use the seeds for treating diabetes. Just boil a handful of water melon seeds in 1 liter water for 45 minutes, in a tight covered pot.  Allow to cool and take half a glass once daily.
