Meal Guide For Diabetic Person

Diabetic persons have a problem maintaining a normal glucose level and as a result they need to mind what they eat. As a global epidemic; it has and still causing lots of death. A proper diet and knowing early about the condition will help control. A person with diabetes should eat foods without sugar, fat and little or no carbohydrate, depending on the level. It is actually a healthy diet, to eat more food like unripe plantain and vegetables. Unripe plantain has component that can help the body reduce sugar quickly.


They can take swallow, so it won’t look like they are deprived of it but in place of Semo, Amala and Eba they should eat wheat or unripe plantain with soups. They can also eat beans (white and not the red beans. Red beans has more carbohydrate than protein), lots of water melon (especially the back, it is rich in fiber), cereals, fish, whole wheat-unpolished rice (ofada/Abakaliki), oats, chicken without its skin on, nuts and garlic. At this point, they need more vegetables like cabbage, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, onion, string beans, tomatoes, spinach, Potatoes, Garden egg plant and fruits like banana, kiwi fruits, citrus, blackberry, blueberries, cranberries, figs, grape fruit, pomegranate juice, granny smith apples, are highly recommended.

If the person has a sugar level as high as 180 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter, the person can avoid fruit like pineapple (especially the one from Cotonou), apples, oranges (can eat the seeds and the back of oranges though) and on a final note, regular exercise will not only help to maintain blood sugar levels but will also help keep body weight down.
